January 2012
Happy New Years as we continue 2012, let’s focus on those things that are truly valuable family, friendship and good health, with this focus all other things will come in time. January also presents an important event for NAHU, the Capital Conference. CAP conference allows members to network from across the country while preparing to meet with House and Senate representative from our respective states. PPACA and MLR are going to be at the top of the discussion agenda as we move to the hill. For those members that are coming to the event 22nd-25th, expect to have a good time and to make an impact on the decisions of our representatives.
To all I send the following message from President of NAHU Mel Schlesinger:
"If you are headed to Capitol Conference, take time to meet with some of your clients and talk about the impact of PPACA and the MLR on your commissions and what that can mean to the services that you are currently providing. Ask your clients for letters on their letterhead talking about the value you bring as a health insurance professional. You might also ask your clients what other message they would like to send to their representatives. This a chance to provide services beyond the scope of the normal agent/client relationship. If you are not headed to DC, you can still make your voice heard by writing letters to your representatives now before we hit the Hill on January 24."
For all our members we have another exciting event February 2nd 2012 “Day at the Capitol” – the day GAHU members from around the state gather to discuss insurance issues with our state Legislative leaders. Please plan to attend one of these important events, don't underestimate the power that you possess for positive change. Until next time.
